Campinas Patchwork Show

Hello! Finally I edited all the photos, put them on the digital album and write about my impressions of the first Campinas Patchwork Show. So, let's go!

The Local: Espaço Edding (Edding Area) - A former sugar mill, which was a nightclub and is now an event place. A very nice and pleasant place, but the division of the booths was a little confused ... many people lost, not knowing where they came from and wherever they went to.

The audience: I think the public was not the expected. Few people in the last two days visiting the fair, maybe the problem was the proximity to the fair in Limeira (15 days before). The coolest thing was to receive people from different cities of the state and also outside ... like a super excited group of girls from Uberlândia with their cute little owl brooch!

Exhibitors: I loved seeing booths of Curitiba (beautiful city!), Santos, São Paulo... so much things to make us mad and empty our pockets! New projects or fabrics? Unfortunately not! Again, the patchwork fair calendar (here) is very tight so... not enough time to create new things. TEC, Art & Borda and Casa Belém had beautiful fabrics (Funny World already has some of the beauties available) and Fuxicos e Fricotes had the cutest designs (Funny World now also have some of these projects to sell).

The embroidery exhibition: I think was very interesting ... mainly because I am passionate about embroidery and I think is super cool spread this art. It was great to see people enjoying the different kinds of embroidery and many of them are interested in learning them! It is the enhancement of hand embroidery and a lot of work for embroidery teachers... perhaps I'd risk giving some classes (with the orientation and training of my dear teacher, of course). Thanks to Lee Albrecht for the initiative and I hope that many other exhibitions of embroidery appear! Hey! How about us (Paula's students) set up an exhibition with our work?!?

Lindo, lindo, lindo!

The most beautiful and fragrant booth at the fair: I was in love with Quitanda do Banho (Greengrocer of the Bath). All beautiful, fragrant and very neat! It was almost impossible to believe that all those fruits are soaps! Congratulations to Peter Paiva! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!

Estande da Funny World: apertadinho mas super charmoso! Quem visitou amou, tenho certeza!
Funny World Booth: tight but super charming! Who visited loved, I'm sure of it! It was really cool to disclose  the more traditional (and complete, in my opinion!) patchwork and embroidery shop in Campinas ... next year the shop will complete 20 years! I love this store,  I love Vivian (shop owner) and all the people attending in there and I am very grateful for the affection I receive from everyone there!

And next year we will have the second edition of Campinas Patchwork Show. Let's hope it will be better than the first one!
